Credit Transfer Process
Definition
Definition
Credit transfer is defined in the AQF as follows:
Credit transfer is a process that provides students with agreed and consistent credit outcomes for components of a qualification based on identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched qualifications.
This is underpinned by the AQF definition of credit as follows:
Credit is the value assigned for the recognition of equivalence in content and learning outcomes between different types of learning and/or qualifications. Credit reduces the amount of learning required to achieve a qualification and may be through credit transfer, articulation, recognition of prior learning or advanced standing.
Eligibility
Eligibility
You can claim credit transfer for equivalent units of competency that you have previously completed with AAMC Training or another RTO. You will need to provide a copy of your USI transcript, record of results or statement of attainment. Once authenticity and validity of the records are confirmed, credit transfers will be granted.
Acceptance
Examples
- AAMC Training Group will accept and mutually recognise the decisions and outcomes of any RTO or body in partnership with an RTO, thereby ensuring mutual acceptance throughout Australia of the qualifications and Statements of Attainment awarded by other RTO’s or AQF authorised issuing organisations.
- AAMC Training Group recognises AQF certification documentation from other RTOs, and authenticated VET transcripts issued by the Registrar. After review and verification of authenticity and validity credit to all relevant units of competency/modules will be applied.
- Credit Transfer applies when the certification documentation provided by the client contains the same national competency code as those that form part of the training and assessment program offered by AAMC Training Group.

Hours are awarded for each activity and these hours are set by the relevant associations or the regulatory bodies pertaining to the relevant profession.
What does RPL mean?
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is the term given to the process of formally recognising the current competency of an individual.
